Caption (for post)

Both hands drop — and just like that, you're signing TODAY. 🤲
Flat-B hands, palms up at waist height. One firm downward stroke. That's it. Think of it as planting your hands in the present — grounded, right here, right now.
Handshape: Flat-B (both hands) Palm facing: Up Movement: Short, emphatic downward drop at waist level Location: Neutral space, in front of lower torso

Card Breakdown

Card 1 — Starting Handshape (COVER)

Both flat-B hands (fingers extended together, thumbs out), palms facing upward, held symmetrically at waist height in neutral space. The sign begins exactly here.

Card 2 — Motion

Both hands drop simultaneously in a short, firm downward stroke. The motion is deliberate — a grounded landing rather than a quick flick. Deep teal arrows mark the direction on each hand.

Card 3 — Ending Handshape

Same flat-B shape, palms still up, now settled at their resting position slightly lower than the start. The sign is complete.

Card 4 — Usage Scenario

"We need to finish this today." A conversational context showing the sign in natural use — the body signing TODAY while the sentence appears as a callout beside it.

Sign Notes

Memory tip: Your hands are landing firmly on "today" — like stamping the present moment into the ground.
Variant note: Some signers use Y-hands (thumb and pinky extended) instead of flat-B. Both are accepted variants; flat-B is the cleaner form for learners.
Related signs: NOW (similar movement, but higher), YESTERDAY (Y-hand arc back from cheek), TOMORROW (A-hand arc forward from cheek)
